My name is Andra Benson. I offer private and group classes through Zoom, as well as in-person classes at your home or office.
My students all have human bodies and they are all so different! Yoga is not one-size fits all. I teach my students how to adapt the poses for their own body and personal practice. I encourage my students to stop comparing themselves to others and to recognize their own uniqueness is a gift that only they possess.
My students goals and reasons for learning yoga are as varied as their personalities.
This world is really struggling and we, as human beings, are the heart and soul of this planet whether we want to own up to that truth or not.
The world cannot heal until we heal. In order to heal we need to take time out for self-care, self-reflection, and becoming mindful of the present moment. We need to stop reacting to the world around us and instead begin to respond to it.
We have got to start doing the work if we want this planet to survive for the future generations to come. I worry about what it is going to be like for my children and grandchildren in the next 20 years. Don’t you?
I am willing to take some risks and step up and take action. Are you?
If you are, I would love to work with you and be part of your journey. I will support you but I will expect you to do the work. I will meet you where you are but I will not leave you there!
With over twenty years of experience as a yoga student and eight years as a yoga instructor, I am highly skilled in teaching modifications for all poses within a sequence. I am able to adapt to individual needs and love to see people attend my yoga classes for various reasons, including building strength and flexibility or out of curiosity to explore what their body is capable of, improving their relationship with their body and improving their mental, physical and emotional health, along with forming new friendships. I am passionate about helping my students discover themselves on their mats by creating yoga classes that are appropriate, beneficial, and enjoyable.
I am certified in Ashtanga Yoga, Hatha Yoga, Yin Yoga, Children's Yoga, Chair Yoga, Trauma Informed Yoga, Pranayama and Meditation, and Yoga Nidra (along with others I am working on completing). I am a life long student of yoga so that I can better help others.
"In this life you will receive a body. You may love it or hate it, but it will be yours for the duration of your life on earth. Make peace with your body so it can effectively serve its purpose and share its valuable lessons of acceptance, self-esteem, respect and pleasure."
